It’s almost Christmas Time! My favorite time of year! Growing up in the United States with a Brazilian mom meant that our holidays were a mix of Brazilian and American traditions. As a Brazilian-American I want to give my son the same experience.
Creating a print rich environment is an important part of raising a bilingual child. This is especially true for those, like me, who are not fluent in the target language. Seeing Portuguese around the house is a reminder for me to speak Portuguese with my son and it helps him learn the language, especially since he is hyperlexic.
