Beautiful Stained Glass Raindrop Preschool Art Project

This art project is part of our weather unit and it was so much fun! The finished product is so beautiful that it still hangs on our window months after we finished our weather unit!

Supplies

  • Raindrop outline (download here)
  • Wax paper
  • Blue tissue (different shades)
  • Elmers Glue
  • Brush
  • Scissors

Instructions

Step 1: Cut out the raindrop outline.

Step 2: Cut the tissue paper into little squares and put them into a container. Alternatively, you can cut the tissue into little shapes and your child can review the shapes as they make art.

Step 3: Cut a piece of wax paper slightly larger than your raindrop.

Step 4: Glue your raindrop, ink side down, to the wax paper.

Step 5: Pour glue into a container for your child.

Step 6: Place the raindrop, glue, brush, and tissue paper on the table for your child.

Finish up: Once your child is done gluing the tissue paper. Cut out another piece of wax paper and apply glue all over it. Place it, glue side down, on the tissue.

Place it a dry place. Once dry, cut the excess wax paper away from the outline. Make a hole at the top of the raindrop and thread it with a piece of string. Hang it on a window.

Enjoy!
